Meet the Team

Steve Evans

Elder

Steve was born in Treherbert which was a great place to grow up. A sports-mad teenager. Steve became a dedicated atheist and had never been in a church. Somehow, he ended up reading part of bible known as the Gospel of John and had his life transformed. A follower of Jesus and part of the leadership team at Acts since we started back 2008. Enjoying the journey, the incredible gift of life. Trying to be what I’m meant to be as a man, a Christ follower, a husband, a dad and a Grampy! Thanks for the grace and patience.

Trisa Matewere

Elder

Trisa’s favourite bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11. Originally from Malawi, Trisa was called to serve in the Rhondda in 2005. She married her college sweetheart Lotan in December 2000 and has been blessed with three beautiful children Robert, Charlotte and Jamaine.

Trisa has a heart for servant leadership and seeks to follow Christ’s footsteps by serving others.  Her desire is to see the world come to know and experience the true joy, peace and love that comes from being in Christ. Community Team

We have recently employed two community workers who run our community projects such as the Warm Welcome and the After School Club – TylorsTeam. They are hoping to start a Youth Club in the church building very soon so watch this space.

Peter Akagbosu

Peter was born into a Christian home in Nigeria and he truly found Christ during his university days. He was fundamental to the setting up and growing of a branch of Christian Fellowship International, a youth Fellowship, while in the university. He moved to South Wales with his wife Lola and his three girls, Annabelle, Naomi and Audrey in 2022 and walked into Acts Community Church in July of that year and felt the love of God there. His family and himself have been part of the Church since then and he became part of the team officially in January 2024. He has a real heart for reaching out to people in our local community, especially children and young people.
